IEEE Computer Society Diversity & Inclusion Fund – Call for Proposals

Diversity & Inclusion Fund The IEEE Computer Society Diversity & Inclusion Committee seeks proposals for projects, programs, and events that further its mission to positively impact diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the computing community. These activities might include, but are not limited to, solution-oriented panel discussions addressing issues related to diversity in the computing workforce, webinars on important technical contributions from under-represented groups to our profession, and mentoring programs for early-career individuals.

In celebration of its 75th Anniversary, the IEEE CS Diversity & Inclusion Fund was formed and ultimately seeded with a $100k contribution from the Computer Society.

“The 75th anniversary has provided a great opportunity to not only reflect on our past, but to the future of the Computer Society,” said IEEE Computer Society President Forrest Shull. “We’re committed to taking steps now to impact the way the organization grows and serves its increasingly diverse member community.”

These projects will create programs and activities that will help women, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and individuals from underrepresented regions. A few of our ideas include partnering with local STEM organizations serving their community, tools and features for accessibility, and solving unique issues for those in remote regions. Submit your proposal via the form below. For more information, please contact inclusion@computer.org for assistance. Individual and team proposals are welcome and are reviewed on an ongoing basis year round. The target date for the first round of submissions is 15 October 2021.

A final impact report and video will be expected from all funded projects and activities.
