IEEE DataPort Announcement-CGA

IEEE DataPort logo

Attention Authors (Past, Present and Future):

  • Would you like to get more exposure to your data-based research?
  • Do you have valuable datasets that require long-term storage and accessibility?
  • Do you have funding agency requirements to meet around data management?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, IEEE DataPort is ready to help you meet these needs. IEEE DataPort (https://ieee-dataport.org) is an IEEE data platform that is available to all IEEE members, IEEE authors, IEEE societies, and the global technical community. IEEE DataPort adds value for all those in the global research community that have data storage needs, require access to datasets, and/or desire to initiate or participate in data challenges and competitions.

To support IEEE authors and facilitate the submission of datasets related to scholarly articles, IEEE enables authors of many publications to have direct access to IEEE DataPort and the opportunity to store data as part of the article submission process. Click here to see all IEEE journals and magazines that are offering this data upload opportunity to their authors.

All authors, whether IEEE members or not, can deposit their datasets up to 2 TB into IEEE DataPort at no cost. You will receive a unique and persistent DOI (Digital Object Identifier) immediately upon loading the dataset. This DOI can then be used in your manuscript file to refer readers to the related dataset. Not only could this strengthen an article, it can also support research reproducibility. Authors will get additional exposure to their data and research and perhaps will receive more citations because datasets are citable assets.

The About IEEE DataPort page provides instructions and answers to commonly asked questions. Use this link to access IEEE DataPort. If you have any questions regarding IEEE DataPort, please contact Melissa Handa at melissa.handa@ieee.org. Any feedback you have would also be welcome as we want to provide the highest level of service to our authors.
